Our journey had advanced-
Our feet were almost come
To that odd Fork in Being’s Road-
Eternity-by Term-
Our pace took sudden awe-
Our feet-reluctant-led-
Before-were Cities-but Between-
The Forest of the Dead-
Retreat-was out of Hope-
Behind-a Sealed Route-
Eternity’s White Flag-Before-
And God-at every Gate-
