The hollow chambers of the moon,
The purple barrens of the deep,
Do not so cruel silence keep
As you who put your heart to sleep.
Believe me, gold is not more pure,
The oak more steadfast in the wind,
The sun a flame more strong and sure
Than is the purpose of his mind
Who steels his heart to find you so unkind.
