    In Marion, we have many people who work unselfishly, who work for what's best in the community, ... especially our Marion Chamber of Commerce. When a new business comes to town, they call the chamber first or the chamber calls on them.

    Second place, three champions, I think that's a heck of an accomplishment. We're heading in the right direction. We only have one senior, so I think we'll be back and I'd like to see us challenge North Marion for the team championship next year. They've set the standard.


    Last year, we had (Brandon) McPherson and Donald (Cloutier) and Tyler (Morris). The year before we had Penny and Stefan Routt. These are guys that were awfully good basketball players. When you think of the Marion teams (that won three straight state titles in the '80s), it was all the same kids. They didn't have to make all the adjustments (from year to year).

    And it's been such a success. It's beyond what we could have expected. I think it's just wonderful that in the town this size we have (Marion) and Service Printing, which could produce this book. And it's also the right size town to help people buy it and read it and send it to their friends.
