    With IDT Entertainment and Industry bringing such high-end talent, we're very excited about this anthology. We've been trying to put together this kind of series because it has great potential to become appointment television.








    Well, it developed into something very different than we thought it was going to be. Initially we saw it as a disguised anthology, with J'onn, the Watchtower and the concept of Justice League being the main things the shows had in common. Our mandate was simply to tell really good stories with very small groups of characters, usually featuring one or two of the new guys. As we were saying early on, one week we'd tell the best Booster Gold story we can, the next week the best Hawk and Dove story. But as the stories developed (particularly Stan Berkowitz and Bob Goodman's 'Fearful Symmetry'), we realized we had the makings of what would become the 'Cadmus arc,' a huge story that could span two seasons, a story that would have been impossible to tell in the old 'Justice League' format.


    We don't attempt to have any theme for a number of the anthology, or to have any particular sequence. We just put in things that we like, and then we try to alternate the prose and the poetry.

    I'll tell you what I miss most. What I would love to do, more than anything, is just anthologies. With an anthology you can tell any story and be in every division of television. We don't have any anthologies anymore, do we?




    You could've done a killer 20-minute anthology of Motown that would've been educational to kids who didn't know what Motown was. And the people who lived through Motown would've loved its nostalgic value. ... But music is the hardest way to appeal to a mass audience because it's highly fragmented and you never get anything that everyone likes.

    I have got an anthology album out. The American version has got the same mixes but the European version, I remixed them in the studio and added a couple of things that I have always wanted to add.
