The Broken Chain Poem

For the link may be broken now, But one day, it will mend again and that day we will rejoice together in Heaven forever!

The Broken Chain poem is written by Ron Tranmer. In this poem, The author talks about death. He discusses how one death affects the whole family. He says that the family is joined together by an invisible chain. This chain is the bond that keeps us together in tough times. But one family member dies, and the link is broken.

Death breaks that chain, and in turn, it breaks the family apart. The link is never repaired because death is irreversible. There is no coming back from it. The Broken Chain is a wonderfully written poem. Anyone who is dealing with the death of a loved one or has dealt with it can relate to all the words.

Even in this darkness, there is hope. The hope to meet once again. The poem ends with a note about meeting our departed family members again in the afterlife.

The Broken Chain Poem

We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

The Lesson

The poem reflects the idea that we all have to return to God one day and that is our true home. Even though our loved ones have gone from this world, they will always be with us in spirit. The pain is deep and breathtaking, every breath may feel like the biggest challenge for now but hold on. One day we will all be united again and that is when we won’t have to say goodbye.
