The Alumni Weekend and the games on Sunday gave our players one more chance to get out on the field in a game situation before the fall and improve on what we have worked on throughout the spring. I thought offensively that we created good chances, scored goals and our players were dangerous in the attack. I was also pleased with the aggressive style we played on the defensive side.

The television station is trying to branch out and be more regional, as opposed to a station that just caters to Midland and Odessa. We also learned quickly that she could handle it. It wasn't like she couldn't understand us. I didn't realize how good she was at reading lips and how good she would do without the help. We learned that on the visit. She did fine.

Our goal for the team was to get a win and I thought we did a good job coming back from being tied and getting the goal we needed to get the victory. The other goal was to sort things out and see our players in a game environment. We got a good look at everyone. We will figure out a lot of things out from tonight's match. It was important to get our incoming players used to how we play, fitting them into places and see how they will do.

Our players have taken more ownership of the team and responsibility for improving their play. They are doing what it takes to get better, working hard physically and improving their mindset of the game. With that they are building confidence and that will help as they try to maximize their potential. Our team knows that we were stronger last year then the results showed and understand the importance of consistent play.

Our players were not happy with the results from last year and the record was not indicative of the level of soccer they played. They have been working hard to do everything they can to correct that and a refuse to lose attitude is key entering this fall. They have the motivation to improve and don't want a repeat of what their record was last fall.

We want it to be a focal point of the community, not tucked away where it's hard to find.
