In March 2000, greed was extreme, the market was at record highs and people were yelling 'where has this gain been all my life' But by February, early March of this year (2001), fear had reached a an extremely high level, reaching a crescendo on March 22.


    In the corruption of the three qualities, there is blindness in attachment to Maya, there is darkness. The greedy people serve others, instead of the Lord, although they loudly announce their reading of scriptures. They are burnt to death by their own corruption they are not at home, on either this shore or the one beyond.

    Safe-breaking and vault-breaking are at least as old as the pyramids and burial chambers of Egypt. Poking holes in vaults and safes for profit appears to be as durable as greed.


    We're running out of time. I'm at my bottom line. I have nowhere else to go. I've said for years that the only thing that would prevent us from getting a deal was if one side gets greedy. Well, they've gotten greedy.

    The true antidote to greed is contentment. If you have a strong sense of contentment, it doesn't matter whether you obtain the object of your desire or not. Either way, you are still content.


    Five enemies of peace inhabit with us - avarice, ambition, envy, anger, and pride; if these were to be banished, we should infallibly enjoy perpetual peace.






    A year ago, we were so optimistic, and then that turned into greed, quite honestly. And everybody wanted to make more money and more money. And we just kept on -- stocks kept going up. So, you could just buy anything and it was going up, and everybody got in the game, and it got way overdone.








    I think war is based in greed and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow. I think war is never the answer to solving any problems. The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.

    Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.
