    In general there's a lot of sameness in the songs and videos today. It all runs in to one mishmash... I'm definitely of the old school. I like melodies and I like real instruments. I like to see a smiling face across from me rather than a bank of computers. I like to play with real people.

    The state could do better to fund community colleges at a higher rate and we wouldn't have to charge as much for tuition. Things that encourage people to go to college would be helpful, but we're not sure how much that's going to help community college students.

    I have learned as much in the last three years as in any other comparable period of my life, but with an added realisation of how little over a half century of study one has in fact managed to learn of the whole range of economic policy issues.

    We aren't pushing a particular agenda, but we're opening a dialogue on how we need to be doing something different. We think it is positive to talk about ideas. We selected the university to do that because the university is intended to be a place where you can debate ideas without being polarized.

    We are served by everything from corporate types from Abbott Labs through members of the military service from Great Lakes to school teachers, firemen and police from various municipalities.

    Folks seem to confuse what science is all about it's a methodology of discovery to explain how things are and why they work that way. Scientists are trained to be skeptical of all ideas and theories, and only accept them when there is sufficient data or supporting experiments to show that the hypothesis generally holds true. Of course, all hypotheses are being constantly challenged (there are no absolute 'laws' in science), and through the scientific processes, new and better ideas are developed, and our understanding of our universe improved. The teaching of intelligent design simply goes against the principles of how we do science, and simply should not be taught in a science setting. ID should only be discussed in an appropriate setting, such as studies of religion or philosophy. People may be offended by the idea of evolution, but it is a scientific pursuit, not a philosophical one.

    It's the midnight hour. We have to get moving on it now, not next year, not after some study group in the White House bangs this thing around for another three months.

    I don't know what I'm going to do next year. I'm thinking I might play or take a year off to ease the transition of going to the U of A and just focus on school and maybe take it up in a year again. I'm not sure yet.

    Whoever would be a teacher of men let him begin by teaching himself before teaching others and let him teach by example before teaching by word. For he who teaches himself and rectifies his own ways is more deserving of respect and reverence than he who would teach others and rectify their ways.


    Most of our kids are aged between 6 and 12, and just need a bit of encouragement to turn reading into an enjoyable activity. We don't need our teens to be in the Academic stream at high school, or to be intellectual over-achievers. They simply need to know how to read, and enjoy being with a younger kid for an hour a week. The time they put in counts towards the Community Service hours they need in order to graduate, so it's a classic win-win situation for any teen who enjoys reading and who's prepared to help a younger child.

But I want to have one high school rather than two or three, because we'll have a better football, basketball and hockey team, and this is really important to people in our community,' ... So one of the things is, how does the community feel about sports And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.
