    There's so many games left, our only concern is our own play. We know we can play better than we did in January (3-9-2) and we can beat the teams we need to beat to make it in (the playoffs).

    When you played New Jersey before, it's been really tough to forecheck them because Martin is out there playing the puck every time you dump it in. Hopefully (now) you can put a little more pressure on them.

    We're going to miss him in these last 10 games. I think Jason had a great year for us. That's sports, you can never tell what is going to happen. I think all teams go through injuries in the season, but it is not why we are where we are in the standings.

    He's been playing great all year, ... He certainly deserved to be in the All-Star Game. He should've been there, but he didn't get a chance to go. He's certainly been one of our best players all year. I think he's proven the last few years that he's one of the best defensemen in the league and he certainly deserved to go this year.

    We played good for a long stretch. We have to get back to the things we were doing. If we can do that, we can get back to winning some games again.

    Now, it's a little more my respnsibility to answer for what's going on with the team and explain why we're doing well and why we're not doing well.

    I was a little worried before the game about how it was going to go, but it went better than I thought,

    I'm not surprised. I watched him play in the world championships last year, and all I hear from Detroit is how great he's been playing there. He's an excellent defenseman and what a game he had tonight, coming in first game like that.

    At this level, you put a lot of pressure on yourself as a player to perform and do well.

    Our only focus from now on is to turn this thing around. We have to get back to playing the way we did. The way we're playing right now, it hasn't even been two weeks. Before that we were playing really good hockey and we could beat any team in the league. We have to climb back to that, and it's going to take all of us in the dressing room. We can't look at the standings right now.

    We can't worry about what the end result is going to be on Monday, we have to make sure that we come out and work hard and just worry about the next shift we're on the ice. We can't look further ahead than that.

    And when things are not going well in Toronto, you're going to hear about it. And you're going to say things are not good at all, where it's really not that bad.

    When that (missing the playoffs) happens a lot of time there are changes. As players and coaches we all understand the rules of the game. We'll see what happens.

    I believe in my heart that we have a good enough team to make the playoffs and a good enough team to beat Ottawa.

    With the fans and the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, the way I've been treated here has been awesome.

    My vision is definitely better, I feel we're going in the right direction, but we'll find out more today.

    We've got a lot of teams around us in the standings and behind us, so every game is big. There is no doubt in the locker room that we can make the playoffs.

    We have no one to blame but ourselves. It shouldn't have come down to this late in the season. It's our own fault.

    This is a two-week direction (the losing skid) and we still have a long season to go. I believe we have a good enough hockey team to make it to the playoffs and I believe we're going to make it.

    I haven't played a league game in a long, long time but it felt better than I thought it would, ... You just want to win the hockey game when you're coming back.

    Everybody is excited to play so I think who plays with whom is a minor thing at this point.

    I learned to respect Daniel over the years. He's a fine player.
