It is very challenging, because you do have differing opinions about Lake Tahoe and how it should be managed.

    Their group has not yet formed. They have just been kind of organizing as local government representatives on the South Shore but have not formalized their working group or organized with the public.

    We hear so much about conflict and yet we saw a lot of common threads woven throughout the discussion tonight. We look forward to building on this.

    All these issues have been covered in a lot of detail. We're just bringing them back to the public for the next round -hopefully the forum and public gets what they need to get some agreement to wrap up and the forum can make some kind of recommendation.

    When we see those models coming out of the TMDL, that's going to enable us to make better choices.

    This is not looking at management strategies. In other words, these (meetings) are more conceptually what we're looking for... what our goals should be what the vision should be.... Implementation is not the point we're at.

    We've heard from the community that they want us to be more accessible on the North Shore.

    The consultants have worked with communities throughout the West. They know how to break down complicated issues to a level where people can understand.

    We want the (partnership) agencies to think outside the box for the next regional plan, but we're also not looking at changing the rules overnight to throw the community into chaos.

    That's been the reason why for 20 years, this issue has not been resolved. If this was an easy issue, it would have been resolved a long time ago.

    Incline is ahead in the amount of local grassroots involvement.
