Only in death will we have our own names since only in death are we no longer part of the effort. In death we become heroes.

The amazing miracle of death, when one second you're walking and talking, and the next second you're an object.
Amber saw getting infected as the ultimate commitment. Like her and the guy would be doomed to be with each other. Looking back, she figured a brush with death would make her really enjoy her life. Like she would feel more alive.
No shit, there's worse ways to be dead than dying.
I admire addicts. In a world where everybody is waiting for some bline, random disaster, or some sudden disease, the addict has the comfort of knowing what will most likely wait for him down the road. He's taken some control over his ultimate fate, and his addiction keeps the cause of death from being a total surprise.
Maybe this is why so many serial killers work in pairs. It's nice not to feel alone in a world full of victims or enemies. It's no wonder Waltraud Wagner, the Austrian Angel of Death, convinced her friends to kill with her. It just seems natural. You and me against the world...
If people thought you were dying, they gave you their full attention.
The only difference between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage.
In most hospitals, paging Nurse Flamingo means a fire. Dr. Blaze means a fire. Dr. Green means a suicide. Dr. Blue means somebody stopped breathing. Nothing is straight forward anymore. In a grocery store, paging Mr. Cash is a call for an armed security guard. Paging Freight check to Women's Clothing means somebody is shoplifting in that department. Other stores page a fake woman named Sheila. Sheila to the front means somebody is shoplifting in the front of the store. Mr. Cash and Sheila and Nurse Flamingo are always bad news. It's what people say when they don't want you to hear the truth.
Because the only difference between a suicide and a martyrdom really is the amount of press coverage.
