Bryan McCabe Quotes (36 Quotes)

We worked a lot harder tonight. The other night, we just plain and simple got outworked and that shouldn't happen. We were pretty unlucky to be down 2-0 after one. We stuck to the program, and it worked out.

I still hope a new deal can be worked out here. This is where I want to be.

We're beating ourselves. Second goal, fourth goal, fifth goal, we had the puck every time. It's nothing that can't be fixed.

Obviously it is a failure for everyone. It's on all of us. I'm sure John (GM Ferguson) will figure out what needs to be done and tweak it as he sees necessary. But it's a huge disappointment for all of us.

We had a terrible start, really came out flat in the first period, but we kept grinding away. Mats' line took control in the third period.

There are lots of great players out there, and not in my wildest dreams did I think that I'd make it anyway, ... It was a little disappointing -- because of course I'd love to go -- but all the players that are going are really good players and deserve to be there. That's the way it goes. Hopefully I can keep it going and get an opportunity another year.

He's the biggest thing that has happened to Canadian hockey, and for him to get his name trashed through mud is pretty sad. But he will come out clean on the other side.

We take it in stride. It's Toronto. All the fans want to win. They haven't had a Cup in years and we want to win too.

I don't want to create waves. There was a vote, it passed, and now I just want to move ahead and play hockey.

It wasn't our prettiest game. It's an ugly win, but we'll take it.

We weren't allowed to vote on that (in December). Now they do want my vote and I couldn't even discuss the situation with the 30 guys in our dressing room,

Ninety per cent of the guys do (feel that way), I guess, so we'll see. We're having a secret vote and it'll be a dead issue in a couple of days.

I've now had an opportunity to speak to my teammates. We sat down last night, had a long conversation and we'll make an educated vote on where our team stands and that's how it should be done.

There were a lot of comments and a lot of things were said, and the only thing I asked for was time to confer with my teammates on it, ... But obviously a vote was taken and it went through.

He likes to play physical, as you all saw, ... Obviously, you don't want to see anyone get hurt, but the kid is trying to win a job. You can't hold him accountable for finishing a check out there. Everyone was in that spot once.

He was pretty cool. A lot of them didn't grow up with hockey, but they might check it out now.

But I work on it every day. I shoot one-timers after each and every practice.

That's when good things are going to happen. Guys were going to the net hard.

You guys (the media) put a lot of pressure on him, that's for sure. But he's going to be a good player in this league for a long time.

You don't stop him, you hope to contain him.

There's some stuff going on, I guess, ... It's been a long year for all of us, especially the guys involved in all this stuff, and we'd just like to put it all behind us, I think. I'm pretty much sick of the whole situation, to tell you the truth, so hopefully this will all pass.

We know it's going to be tough. Not too many teams go in there and win a lot of games.

We moved the puck around and got lucky. I got a clear shot.

It will be tough. Not many teams go out there and win too many games.

What can you say about a guy who is going through the worst time of his life and still takes time out to deliver the news first hand

All I asked for was to have some time to confer with my teammates before casting a vote,

I don't watch anything during the year. Don't read the paper, don't watch any sports news, nothing. I don't need to hear anything.

It's something you can't control. I love it here, I want to be here, as does everyone in this room. But you can't worry about it. It's the same thing every time the trade deadline comes and goes every year. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

We've had a tough couple of weeks here. We needed a win here to get our confidence going. We can have fun over Christmas now.

It's certainly a bonus, certainly not something I was expecting. Obviously everybody wants to go over there and play. It's great to be included and it's special to even be named to the team, but to get a chance to go over there and play, I'm a lot more excited now. It's going to be a lot of fun for sure.

I can't say yes and I can't say no. I know my first choice would be to stay in Toronto.

To tell you the truth, I'm sick of the whole thing.

If you guys didn't mention it, I wouldn't have known. I have a one-in-81 chance. Obviously, everyone would love to go, but it's not possible.

He always does. Good players can do that, and he's one of those guys.
