When a performance isn't working, it's usually because the actor is trying to do something and they're not able to express their idea very well. It's a muddled expression.
In my opinion it is not the writer's job to solve such problems as God, pessimism, etc his job is merely to record who, under what conditions, said or thought what about God or pessimism. The artist is not meant to be a judge of his characters and what they say his only job is to be an impartial witness. I heard two Russians in a muddled conversation about pessimism, a conversation that solved nothing all I am bound to do is reproduce that conversation exactly as I heard it. Drawing conclusions is up to the jury, that is, the readers. My only job is to be talented, that is, to know how to distinguish important testimony from unimportant, to place my characters in the proper light and speak their language.

Tao is obscured when men understand only one pair of opposites, or concentrate only on a partial aspect of being. Then clear expression also becomes muddled by mere wordplay, affirming this one aspect and denying all the rest. The pivot of Tao passes through the center where all affirmations and denials converge. He who grasps the pivot is at the still-point from which all movements and oppositions can be seen in their right relationship... Abandoning all thought of imposing a limit or taking sides, he rests in direct intuition.

Tomorrow we'll see how the market reacts to Intel's news. Remember, the market needs to look forward but earnings are trailing and not looking forward. I think the message in this inverted yield curve is muddled. I think it is something to watch and to understand better. But I am not overly concerned.

It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble how hopeless the outlook how muddled the tangle how great the mistake. A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world ...
