Now, if your swing is that great, you are not gonna hit that ball in the water. His swing is good -- I'm not trying to say his swing is bad. But you're gonna miss to the right, anywhere to the right. Then he shoots whatever he shot at the Bell South, and misses the cut. Then he shoots 80 at Augusta, and no one even says anything about it. Nobody says, oh, maybe we jumped the gun on that one. Which is a little bit unfair.



    This will sound a little strange, but we did not play good basketball tonight. I'm sure that the outside observer will say they really played tough against a top-ranked team on the road and blah, blah, blah. We turned it over 20 times. We were not able to keep people off the glass when it mattered most. And we shot like a junior high team from the free throw line.

    I knew two or three weeks before the game I wasn't going to make it. It started to kick in then and the night before the final it was terrible. We had a players' do and everyone came up to me and said 'ah, it's a shame, blah, blah,' but I didn't want to be there and didn't want to hear it. Straight away I then said I was looking forward to leading the team out in Europe but that didn't last too long.



    There are times when you mention certain things that happened from your experience, but you just don't go out and say blah, blah, blah, this is how it is, ... I've told them that we were not very good on the road, and we were very good at home, especially late in ballgames. We weren't the best team in baseball. We weren't the best team in the American League, but we got into the tournament, and we got hot. That's exactly what this team has done here.

    It was good to see that side of him. It's probably an indication of how much stress we've all been under, having to answer all the questions about, 'Is it still a rivalry if you can't win' Blah, blah, blah. I think if you go down to Dallas this morning and ask anybody about that game, I think the rivalry is still there.



    They were pretty clear. Things were blah. On the other hand, Lucent is in a lot better shape than it was two years ago, and if you're thinking about 2007, things look pretty decent.


    We heard later through the grapevine that we were being compared to the Furious 5, and because of that we were getting feedback that they were saying that we werent all that, that we were copying them... blah blah blah.
