Coming to tell me of her sister
stuck in the snow drift
the soft snow of this afternoon
perfect for the battle
forts and snowballs
to loose the dogs of war
Suddenly aware
of my statements
taking the initiative
the barrage in sudden waves
Taking to her advantage
the immobility of her sister
laughing at the carnage
until she herself was stuck
Sucked into the snow pile
well above their knees
extricated by their father
in peals of sudden glee
