Washing up the dishes;
Washing up the plates;
Washing up the greasy tins,
That everybody hates.
Scouring out the buckets;
Cleaning down the stoves;
Guess I’m going to ‘stick it’,
Though my fancy roves.
Washing ‘for duration’,
That’s what I will do;
As I’ve got no head-piece
For the cooking too.
Others are much smarter;
More clever, too, than I
Still I go on ‘charing’;
Singing cheerfully –
‘Washing up the dishes;
Washing up the plates;
Washing up the greasy tins,
Which everybody hates.’
