The pretty Rain from those sweet Eaves
Her unintending Eyes —
Took her own Heart, including ours,
By innocent Surprise —
The wrestle in her simple Throat
To hold the feeling down
That vanquished her — defeated Feat —
Was Fervor’s sudden Crown —
(Emily Dickinson)
