The ancient words savored
the rite held in reverence
the sacrament of your table
in slowing the words we shared
How much more meaningful
coming to receive
the bread and the cup
when we ground ourselves in your mercy
remembering you died for us
Taking more time
savoring these moments
coming together as a family
to receive the body and the blood
