Words, again and again the psalmist adds
words about words, the
speech of creation, the
words of the Lord, the creator speaking
So beautiful the language
of honeycombs and the sweetness of the law
Finally, turning to us, to
keep away from folly
from loose tongues
He completes the song with the familiar words
words that start many a sermon, words in prayer
that they may be pleasing, acceptable
to the creator
that they may inspire, teach, lead
the flock closer to you
