Lead and wood
Fused for a purpose
Life changes
In blackened ovals
Shading, within the lines
Fear, struggle.
Am I right?
Waiting excruciating
Triumph!!!
Because you believed
Pushed and prodded
I tried and hoped
Reaching
A brighter star
Richer, fuller
Life, not surviving
Comfortable, smothered
Dreams delayed
My path found again
Under the bramble.
Years wasted
On a scripted path
Others’ choices
No longer mine
Free to start anew.
