A new white crown
sneaking out, peeking out
not quite ready
to burst on the scene
to present itself,
show itself off
for the world
not ready for the attention
the closeup, the filling of the gap
Hiding where it’s warm, safe
under covers, hidden from view
hinting of the smile to come
the radiant, melt your heart
smile, neon and insistent
she’ll sport, all too soon
