Like Manna raining down from heaven
so too the smelly fish flakes fall
onto the open mouths of the tropical fish
resident in my office.
Like baby birds with mouths agape,
they welcome the providence
of the food falling from above
miraculously meeting their needs
daily, their daily bread,
A reminder, in a momentary, tangible way
of the provision of the Lord,
for our daily needs
met in ways sublime and subtle,
if we are aware to notice
