An outsider, within his own home
falling to his knees, falling at Peter’s feet
a revelation of his own doubts
the fence he had erected, tended
barring him from our God
Unworthy, unclean, not measuring up
Falling at the apostle’s feet
Rising at Peter’s urging, his word, of love, of grace
his word of equality, of oneness
Rising in praise, to hear Christ’s message
to hear we are all worthy
God’s love, his saving,
available to one and all,
no differences a barrier any longer
