Drink in the cool, smooth,
the sweet scent of Spring
Fleeting aroma of purple
of plum, or white, of
dusty lilac
hanging in the air,
filling the yard by the bush
the rooms where the vases land
a fragrant gift of grace
mellowing time and space
Breathing out and taking in
the sweet lilac’s breath.

This poem was waiting to come of for a few days. I didn’t start right off as a few titles were running through my head – A Breath of Lilac, Lilac Breath, Breathing Lilac, and A Lilac’s Breath.
