If only I were a shock-worker,
how well would I live
or so my little bit of Russian would say
scraps of the first class, all that is left
remains of two semesters
of a language with a different alphabet
strange characters, home of
wonderful literature, rich culture
tormented Lost Souls,
where the great rivers ran
and symphonies roar
Oh to remember a scrap of the learning
so long ago, when I learned
“??? ????? ?????????
???????? ????? ??????.
How do shock-workers live?
Shock-workers live well.”
