Advertisements, they’ve trashed the web,
somehow they’ve gotten into bed
with common sense; ubiquitous
and so intense, insistent
as to cause offense,
intrusive and quite truculent,
I would they should all go away.

But like the course of politics
a stronger force reserves its place,
creates a vacuum in the space
it dominates and so restricts
development of rational sense
that lunatics now have the sway.

With crappy ads in every niche
to queer the pitch between the lines
the heady times were easy prey,
and so it is with great advents
that breed within their callow frame,
their fame indeed is sodden greed
and sows the seeds of their own descent.
