Nothing like the world’s judgment
giving only when given
offering only to those who would repay
holding back forgiveness, compassion
only giving in kind
God’s extravagant love unending
his grace beyond our imagination
in Christ we are all forgiven
all of us offered his love
his offering of paradise

Matthew 20:1-16
sermon, “Grumbling about Grace”
by Rev. Frank Gulinello
“Jesus’ parable of the laborers in the vineyard is about
a gracious God whose grace is extraordinarily and
excessively extravagant. Sometimes the
amazing grace of God causes us to grumble because
it seems to be unjust and not fair in our view of the way life should be.”
