Like Christ, we are to take up the scroll
to take up the ancient words
to take up his ministry
to be the sheep, yes, oh yes;
but to be the Christ, to serve them
loving others, our neighbors
as he commanded
and in that ministry
sharing compassion, hope
offering love, his love
even to the Christ, through them
full circle, being Christ, finding Christ
in the face of each other
serving Christ, through our service
to them, those for whom he came
at the very beginning of his ministry
fulfilling the prophecy
bringing the kingdom near
