Motivational speakers generally recommend that one route to success is to keep company with people who are already successful. These people will then influence you to be positive about yourself and will encourage you to work towards success. Positive people generate a ‘can do’ vibe that will affect the way that you think and act.

It would be best if you distanced yourself from negative people in your social or professional circle. The negative attitudes that they have will soon drag you down and will make you see the world, and your prospects in a defeatist way.

Move out of their shadow, and you can begin to change your outlook and lose the negativity. As soon as positive people are influencing you, so your approach will become positive, and you will embrace success rather than defeatism. Inspirational people inspire others to achieve great things.

One step that you can take towards being influenced positively is to find a mentor who is willing to support you on the journey to success. The more successful a mentor has been in their life, then the more inspiring support they can give you. It is much better, then, if you can find a mentor who has already joined the ranks of millionaires.

How, then, to find a millionaire mentor? You might be surprised when you realize that many successful people are willing to pass on their knowledge and experience. These people are willing to mentor an aspiring success story and have a huge fund of advice to pass on to you. Not only that, but they are also able to open doors for you by introducing you to the contacts they have.

Millionaire Mentor

Before you begin your search for a mentor, you must understand why a mentor is going to be the right move forward. First of all, a mentor guides you along the road to success and directs you when you feel that you are losing your way.

Secondly, they will help you achieve your dreams, and help you stick to the goals you must complete on the road to ultimate success. At each stage, they are going to help you move up to the next level of achievement. The beautiful thing about a millionaire mentor is that they will have lots of experience to share, along with their knowledge and expertise.

Their success will have been hard-won, and they can help you avoid mistakes. By sidestepping potential problems, you will achieve success that much more quickly. Millionaire mentors will come to you with a ready-made support network that you can tap into.

Millionaire mentors are also going to be there when you seem to be faltering to nudge you back on the road to success. They are there to question you and hold you to account for decisions that you have made. They are going to make you justify every action and every choice you make. Knowing that your mentor is watching will make you more alert, better organized, and in control of your progress.

A mentor, therefore, is going to be an essential part of your journey to success. It is necessary, then, that they are someone you admire, have respect for, and trust. They need to have experience in the business you want to enter, and have already put into practice what they learned over the years.

You will be working closely with your mentor for years, so you must develop a friendly, productive relationship. Developing a good working relationship can indeed take time. Mutual liking and understanding is a good grounding for a successful relationship.

When you come to choose a mentor, you might already have a good idea of who you would like to approach. It may be someone that you have heard speak, or perhaps written a book you particularly admire. If they are local, you may be aware of them through local newspaper coverage, or as a result of a sales campaign, they organized in your area.

Begin with an internet search to find out as much as you can about your chosen entrepreneur. Before approaching them, you need to know if they might be willing to act as a mentor. Information like this is not easy to find, as it is unlikely there will be an entry stating “willing to be a mentor.” However, hints will be there. Has the person done any mentoring previously? Do they advocate mentoring in any of their speeches or blogs? Are there other senior people in their organization that mentor business hopefuls?

Millionaire Mentor

It would be best to devour everything your potential mentor has written, spoken about, put on YouTube, or included in a blog or podcast. When the time comes to approach your mentor-to-be, they won’t be impressed if you haven’t done your homework.

The next step is to make sure the potential mentor notices you and is impressed by you. Attend every seminar, conference, meeting, and event where they appear. If they are giving a speech of any kind, use the opportunity to ask intelligent questions. Without behaving like a stalker, be present wherever they are and show by your actions that you are a good bet for the future.

If you are a producer, send them samples with a polite note. If you are a writer, ask them if you could interview them. Send a flyer if you provide a service explaining what you do. Don’t, however, bombard them with this material. Be subtle but persistent.

Having done all this and made sure your name is known to the prospective mentor, the time has come to approach them and ask them to act as your mentor. You may have had a chance to discuss mentoring with them if you have been fortunate enough to have spoken to them. If not, you will need to write to them explaining who you are and how much you admire them. If your efforts to get noticed have been a success, then they may well remember you.

Millionaire Mentor

A formal written letter is always the best approach, although many top entrepreneurs would not be offended by a carefully worded email. Always be respectful in a letter of this type, and explain why you think they would make a great mentor.

Show a willingness to appreciate the time they will have to devote to meeting you by offering to buy lunch. Include enough detail about your plans for the future to gain their interest, but don’t write too much. An overlong letter or email is quite likely to be ignored as too time-consuming to read.

Some millionaire mentors love working with up-and-coming proteges. Others won’t want to be involved. Don’t be disheartened if your first choice turns you down. Keep searching until a millionaire mentor agrees to be your business guru.
