Neale Donald Walsch is an American author of the series Conversations with God. He is also an actor, screenwriter, and speaker. Before writing the Conversations With God series, Walsch worked variously as a radio station program director, newspaper managing editor, and in marketing and public relations. In the early 1990s he suffered a series of crushing blows—a fire that destroyed all of his belongings, the break-up of his marriage, and a car accident that left him with a broken neck. Once recovered, but alone and unemployed, he was forced to live in a tent in Jackson Hot Springs, just outside Ashland, Oregon, collecting and recycling aluminium cans in order to eat.
Walsch was accused of plagiarism for a six-paragraph entry in one of the daily postings on his blog during 2008, this one during the Christmas season, when he published an item titled “Upside down, or right side up?” on Beliefnet.com. But his book was still a best seller of his time.
Lets take a look on few of his great quotes.
On Life:
And in which we say that life is eternal but continue to struggle to survive.
As told in Friendship with God, if we simply decided to believe and act as if first, we’re all one, and second, life is eternal, it would render virtually everything we’ve done all our lives pointless.
Because our choices are largely based on survival. But if life is eternal, life is not a question.
The new spirituality will also base itself on a third very large spiritual understanding, which is that life is eternal. Most religious people claim to believe that, but very few people actually live as if that were true.
You are afraid to die, and you’re afraid to live. What a way to exist.
Your soul doesn’t care what you do for a living – and when your life is over, neither will you. Your soul cares only about what you are being while you are doing whatever you are doing.
True masters are those who’ve chosen to make a life rather than a living.
Others see their possibility in the reality of you. Your message is your life lived.
Life (as you call it) is an opportunity for you to know experientially what you already know conceptually. You need learn nothing to do this. You need merely remember what you already know, and act on it.
Life is all about mistakes. It is constant change and growth.
If you want guarantees in life, then you don’t want life. You want rehearsals for a script that’s already been written. Life by its nature cannot have guarantees, or its whole purpose is thwarted.
Life begins at the end of our comfort zone.
What is important in your life is what you decide is important — and this decision will indelibly create who you are
Express your life as a demonstration of your highest beliefs, rather than as a denial of them.
On God:
It graduates to ‘our state is better than your state,’ and ‘our nation is better than your nation.’ And it circles all the way around to where it started: ‘Our God is better than your God.’
Isn’t it interesting that you find nothing blasphemous about seeking to be like the devil, but seeking to be like God offends you—
Nothing in this universe occurs by accident.
Jesus knew that if he gave people the help they asked for, rather than merely the help he wanted to give, that he was empowering them at the level at which they were ready to receive empowerment.
On Love:
I do not love hot more than I love cold, high more than low, left more than right. It is all relative. It is all part of what is.
You don’t know how to love without condition.
Fear is the energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards, harms. Love is the energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares, heals.
Never do anything in relationship out of a sense of obligation. Do whatever you do out of a sense of the glorious opportunity your relationship affords you to decide, and to be, Who You Really Are.
I tell you this: Compassion never ends, love never stops, patience never runs out in God’s World. Only in the world of man is goodness limited. In My World, goodness is endless
For it is the nature of people to love, then destroy, then love again that which they value most.
All human actions are motivated at their deepest level by one of two emotions—fear or love.
Thought is creative – Fear attracts like energy – Love is all there is.
What would love do now?
Passion is the love of turning being into action. It fuels the engine of creation. It changes concepts to experience…. Never deny passion, for that is to deny Who You Are, and Who You Truly Want To Be.
The Highest Thought is always that thought which contains joy. The Clearest Words are those words which contain truth. The Grandest Feeling is that feeling which you call love.
Other Quotes:
If you want the best the world has to offer, offer the world your best.
The purpose of relationship is not to have another who might complete you, but to have another with whom you might share your completeness.
Enlightenment is understanding that there is nowhere to go, nothing to do, and nobody you have to be except exactly who you’re being right now.
The way to move out of judgement is to move into gratitude.
Glorify who you are today, do not condemn who you were yesterday and dream of who you can be tomorrow…
Belief creates behaviors.
Do what you do for the sheer joy of it, Do what you choose, not what someone else chooses for you.
Move forward with no second-guessing, no guilt trips, no hesitation. Your purpose is to recreate yourself anew in each moment.
