You can't afford to go out there and watch too much, ... If you get caught watching, you're not going to get to the puck and not going to make good plays.

It's important for me to move on. I try to go out and give myself an opportunity to play there and if not, I'm not second-guessing any guy there because they all deserve to be there. It's tough because I thought I had a chance, but it's not tough because I think I should replace someone else, it's not like that at all.

It's going to be nice just to talk to him and talk about some hockey things. It's been busy, with the lottery and the draft, and I just want to get started and see what the level of play is like and get out there and push myself and get ready for the season.

You want to stay away from that, ... I've had a lot of chances, and I haven't been able to put a few in, but they're going to come. I've hit some posts, and it's a matter of making sure when I do have chances, I bear down.

There were no tags on the bag that identified it as Troy Crosby's, but an attached baggage claim tag bore his name. Someone saw my name on that (claim tag), ... They took a look inside and hit the jackpot.

I'd love to have the opportunity to do that, ... Obviously I'm going to be a rookie, so I'm going to try to learn as much as a I can, be open-minded. And be a student. . . . On the ice, it's good for me to see some of these older guys who've been in the league for a lot of years and see how they practice, just get into good habits. Being around those guys, it's going to rub off.

We'll see ... I think it depends on the swelling, ... If it's swollen like this, we'll probably just wait. If it's still swollen, and because it's swollen, the left foot probably doesn't fit in a skate.

I think it's kind of getting old talking about it, to be honest with you. It's something where we just have to play hockey and not worry about the officials, who we have total confidence in.

When I first saw it, I was pretty sure it hit the back bar. He made a great shot, and I saw the referee right there, and I think he was pretty sure it went in, too. There wasn't much time where I thought it wasn't going to be a goal.

Some guy was just yelling at me. It wasn't the first time. I'm not going out there to start something with a fan by any means, not at all. But it gets to the point where some of the things they say cross the line. Trust me, I don't usually talk to fans.

I can't believe it, ... For it to happen once, I was in shock. But this time, it's almost like ... 'It can't be real.'

Once I started watching the first game I became a fan. I totally forgot about the opportunity I had to maybe be there. I think it's always easy to say 'what if' and criticize, but the fact is it comes down to a one-game playoff. Whoever's the better team on that night's going to win.

It's been awesome. Obviously, at the start, when I first met him and started to live with him, he's an easy guy to talk to. But at the same time, you're always still uncomfortable. It's a guy you grew up watching and idolizing and now you're living with him and playing with him. So right now it's been great. We get along great.

Five-on-five, we really didn't give them too much.

I've always had a passion for hockey, ... That's the key. You can't be putting in time. You have to enjoy doing what you do.

It's just frustrating to lose, that's pretty much it. I thought we played better but I don't think our standard should be compared to the last game we played here. We played better than that but it's not good.

He's been a positive ever since he got here. He had a couple nice hits the last couple games. He's not the biggest guy, but he plays big and he has a big heart. That's important on any team and he's got to keep doing that. He's been great for us.

There's no excuse at all. It's effort. It's moving your feet, it's making hits. You keep it simple, but when you do you create bounces -- you make your own bounces.

I want to be the best, so whatever comes with that I have to accept, ... I don't think there was ever a time where I stepped back and said 'I wish I was doing something different.'

It's nice to set up guys and give them empty nets and stuff, but these D are good. I have to make sure that I use shooting as an option more.

We're close. We have to make sure we keep plugging. It's just a matter of getting that one more goal.

You don't realize sometimes what putting the puck on net does, ... Sometimes defensemen turn their backs and maybe look at the puck, or it gets the defensive team moving and maybe a little bit confused. If you get it to the net, a lot of things can happen. It's the simplest thing, but sometimes it does get overlooked.

Honestly, it wasn't on my mind. We're trying to improve and you're seeing a focus in everyone right now, we have good energy and we're all battling.

The defensemen went down and got out of position. So then the goalie had no choice but to play the shot so I knew Mark had an open shot. I gave him a quick look and got him the puck.

It goes by fast. When it's your first year, a lot of times it goes by slower just because everything's new. I can't imagine it going by any faster than it has this year. It's scary, but it's been fun and I want to finish as best as possible.

They try to keep a close eye on me, they just wanted to play the body and get their hands up a little bit when they're hitting. I expect every game to be physical.

That's just the nature of the game. There was a lot made out of this game and I think things just escalated a little bit.

It's always tough to lose when you're that close. We played two pretty good hockey games. But hanging our heads and getting frustrated over it is not going to help us in the next game or the long run.

Going through this is a lot of adversity -- let's be honest, there is a little bit of pressure because we haven't been winning -- and if we can get through this, we'll be better for it, ... We haven't gotten results, but the effort and the want are there. With that, you're going to get results. It's a matter of time.
