When we see fault in our brother
in any one or another
always needing to ask
what is the motivation
when speaking words of correction
Our sinful natures
mindful in our actions
slow to raise our voice
so we would do no harm
Only plan with a clean heart
not with seeds of hate
reaping only, ever
the seeds which we sow
Gently correcting, lovingly
only when truly warranted
cautious in our words, forgiving
that we may not be at fault
All of us limited, human
in that we are equal
each one with feet of clay
unworthy of God’s grace
