Supposing I were really there
in Kosovo, Aceh, or East Timor
and lived myself every horror
the media have reported over
Would I still and all care about
the latest Nokia handphone,
the newly launched Audi vehicle
or british league of football?
(Each second it grows imminent:
man metamorphosing into alien;
I learned why such a recluse thou be
much as fame found thee, eventually)
